Our agency uses the 1,500-character-with-spaces card as the standard unit for calculating translation fees. One card consists of 1,500 characters with spaces, which is the standard unit of measurement in the translation industry in Croatia and the region. This billing system allows for transparent and fair pricing, as you pay exclusively for the actual volume of the translated text.
The price per card depends on several factors: the source language, the target language, the level of expertise the text requires, and the delivery deadline. For example, translations from less common languages or highly specialized texts in the fields of medicine, law, or finance may have a higher per-page rate compared to general translations from common European languages. To receive an accurate and fully customized quote, feel free to send us the text for translation—the analysis and quote are completely free and non-binding.
Certification by a court-appointed translator is not an additional charge. If your document requires an official certification with the signature and stamp of a certified court-appointed translator, this service is included in the translation price with no hidden costs. This is a significant advantage compared to many agencies that charge for certification as a separate item.

How We Prepare a Quote
Once we receive your text, our team conducts a detailed analysis of the material—we assess the scope, linguistic complexity, technical terminology, and required deadlines. Based on this analysis, we prepare a free, no-obligation quote, typically within 30 minutes of receiving the material. You can send us your text via email at info@eurolanguage.hr, through the contact form on our website, or deliver it in person to our office at Kranjčevićeva 14, Zagreb.
The exact price of the translation is determined upon completion, when the total number of characters in the translated text is counted and the exact number of pages is calculated based on that. This means you pay only for the actual content translated—not a character more, not a character less. If the final scope differs from the estimated one, we will notify you in a timely manner.
How to check the word count yourself
Upon your request, we can deliver the translation to you via email in Word format, which allows you to easily verify the word count yourself. You can calculate the word count as follows:
- Open the document in Microsoft Word.
- Click on "Tools" or "Review," depending on the program version.
- Select the "Word Count" option.
- In the window that opens, find the "Characters (with spaces)" entry.
- Divide the resulting number of characters by 1,500 — the result is the exact number of cards.
Example: if your document contains 7,500 characters with spaces, this means it is 5 text cards (7,500 ÷ 1,500 = 5).
