A person may be appointed as a permanent court interpreter if they meet the following requirements:
general conditions prescribed for entry into public service, with knowledge of the Croatian language, that they have full command of a specific foreign language, have completed higher professional education,
passed an examination on the structure of the judiciary, the civil service, and legal terminology, and completed professional training with the professional association of permanent court interpreters
